Life is Good at Big Sur

Lucia, California

I fell in love with this spot along the Pacific Coast Highway (Highway 1) in the Big Sur area. On a weekend getaway from the San Francisco Bay Area to Cambria, we stopped at Lucia Lodge and Restaurant and enjoyed lunch outside overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It was one of those times when you say to yourself, “Life is good”.

What marvelous views from the picnic table. I’ve driven the Pacific Coast Hwy a few times but think I need to do it again at a more relaxed pace – so I can stop and smell the proverbial roses. Lovely shot.

Thanks, Leigh! There are so many wonderful places to stop along the coast. It does seem like we’re so often in a hurry to get places though.

The California coastline is amazingly beautiful! Cambria is one of my favorite destinations in the area.

Thanks, Jamie! Haven’t taken the coastal route between L.A. and Santa Barbara! Would love to do that. Took Amtrak to Santa Barbara from San Jose once — beautiful scenery.

I feel like I’m there! Love the way the flowers frame the bottom of the shot, and the shoreline and ocean split the top of the shot. Your description tops it off. I’m thankful that I’ve had days like that, too. “Life is good”
