Christmas in Germany
I wanted to wish all of you a very happy holiday and thank you for following Traveling with Sweeney with photos of the spirit of Christmas in Germany.
I spent some time in Europe this month experiencing the holidays in Germany and the Czech Republic. The German Christmas Markets of Hamburg, Berlin and Lübeck were so much fun and a great way to get in the holiday mood. I enjoyed browsing the arts and crafts stalls while sipping Glühwein (hot mulled wine) and eating Bratwurst sandwiches. The sounds of Christmas carols and laughter filled the air.
Here are my Christmas cards to you!

Merry Christmas to you as well! Beautiful photos. We saw them assembling some of the Christmas markets when we were in Europe in November last year. It was so funny – they looked like little gingerbread houses!
Thanks so much! 🙂
Thank you Cathy! I love the look of those bratwursts cooking over the hot embers – but it looks so cold! Have a great holiday season.
Thanks, John. Those bratwursts were so delicious. Happy New Year to you and your family!

Hamburg is quickly becoming one of my favorite European cities. This was my second time there and I’m anxious to go back.

Christmas in Germany has always been on my list.
Germany is a wonderful place to visit this time of year. Hope you have that experience, too!
And a very Merry Christmas to you and yours as well, Cathy. 🙂 Loved all the Christmas market photos. Those huge bratwurst look soooo good. We’ve been drinking glühwein for the last couple of weeks under the pretence that it’s ‘nearly Christmas.’ 🙂

Beautiful festive photos, Cathy! Hope you have a lovely Christmas.
Merry Christmas! I’ve always wanted to spend the holidays in Germany, and I can definitely tell that their neck of the woods celebrates Christmas to the max thanks to the pictures you have shared! I can’t wait to stroll their cobblestone streets with listening to carolers, seeing reenactments, and enjoying a hot cider with a side of bratwurst. 🙂 yum!
Hi Cathy! I finally got on a computer, instead of my iPhone, so I could actually view the pictures. It looks like a very nice place during the holidays. Of course, isn’t all places more beautiful during that special time of year? Hope to see you soon!
Love, Tammie
Sounds like a wonderful way to pass the holiday season, Cathy! A lovely series of photos, too.
All the best to you for the coming year,
Andrew.
