Rauxa i Seny Barcelona

Characteristic of Barcelona culture, “rauxa i seny” is variously interpreted as a mix of avant garde and common sense, impulse and sanity, spontaneity and measured process, madcap and businesslike. It is the essence of Barcelona’s modernista design and prominently showcased in the Eixample.

September 13, 2012

After catching a gorgeous sunset on the Potomac at National Harbor, Maryland, I took a walk to the marina admiring the yachts and the lights of the nearby Woodrow Wilson Bridge. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed what appeared to be a large hand. Slightly startled, I turned to face it directly.

Queen for about a minute at Kronborg Castle in Hel Queen for about a minute at Kronborg Castle in Helsingør, Denmark. Kronborg is a 16th-century fortress that is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Did you know that it was the setting of Shakespeare's "Hamlet"? You might notice Yorick's skull sneaking into the photo to the right. Other pics include the casemates (which were a little dark and scary) where there is a statue of Holger the Dane. We visited Kronborg on a day trip from Copenhagen that also took us to Lund and Malmö in Sweden. More to come soon! I hope that our connection as friends and allies can outlast the current US regime. I’ll post more soon. #lovedenmark🇩🇰 #natoallies #copenhagenscene #denmark
