By the Time I Got to Phoenix

By the time I got to Phoenix, the car was covered in dust from blowing desert sands and highway construction. I was a bit dusty myself. I was also hungry — traveling always whets my appetite. And I was happy. Road trips make me smile, and arriving at a place where I’ll be visiting loved ones makes me smile, too.

During our last morning in Hana we took a horseback ride along the coast and got a great tip from our guide to take the road along the backside of Haleakala instead of backtracking on the Road to Hana. And so we did.

We were back at the Desert Botanical Garden in Pho We were back at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix last night for our traditional late December visit to enjoy Las Noches de las Luminarias. We love wandering the trails lined with holiday lights illuminating beautiful cacti and listening to music and story-telling at various stages. It’s always quite a magical experience. This year’s special art exhibition with installations throughout @dbgphx is “LightBloom” created by @hybycozo. Totally cool. Titlis, central Switzerland’s highest mountain.
