Do you think of art when you think of Milwaukee? There are many reasons why you should. Art museums and other cultural venues are among the many highlights of Milwaukee that may surprise first-time visitors to this Wisconsin city. During a stay in Milwaukee in May, I visited five interesting places that showcase diverse art and historic artifact collections.
Festivities and events began last month to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Frank Lloyd Wright’s birth on June 8, 1867 and I marked the occasion with a visit to Taliesin West. A 1-1/2 hour “Insights Tour” gives a good introduction to the famous architect and his design philosophy with commentary and anecdotes by the expert guides while touring the property.
